Professional Sound System for Stadium
As shown in the picture, the stadium is 250 meters long and 230 meters wide, with a semi-arc awning that can accommodate more than 30,000 spectators. The west side of stadium has a wheelbase of 52 meters, the speaker hanging point is 38 meters high, and the distance from the nearest side of stadium is 27 meters and 38 meters maximum. The competition venue is 200 meters long and 135 meters wide.
The control center is located in the professional equipment room on the fifth floor, and the whole speaker amplifier cabinet of the west stadium is also set up here. The whole system adopts the network dual-link mode. When any one of the devices fails, it will not cause no sound in the field. Venue sound source aggregation digital interface box - digital mixer - digital processor - amplifier - speaker, we need to make a backup of the entire system ( excluding amplifiers and speakers).
Speaker Layout
According to the EASE simulation of the stadium, and through our calculation of the sound pressure from the linear array speakers to each side of auditorium based on the CAD drawings, we can ensure that the sound pressure reaches the required standard and the sound field of the venue is uniform:
- Venue sound reinforcement system: Hang horn speakers on one side of the podium awning for sound reinforcement of the competition venue, so that the sound from the west comes from the same side to prevent the generation of sound interference.
- Auditorium sound reinforcement system: Hang full-range linear array speakers above the auditorium awning, so that the sound covers the auditorium evenly.
- Sound reinforcement system of the competition venue and the auditorium without an awning: Adopt horn speakers for sound reinforcement; the sound image of the venue comes from the same side from the west to prevent the generation of sound interference.
Speaker Configuration
KF-D212 linear array speaker: Horizontal coverage angle: 100°, Vertical coverage angle: 10°, the linear array is 27 meters away from the stadium and the maximum is 38 meters. Speakers hung over 16 meters high can radiate 20 meters horizontally, and 23 meters high can radiate 42 meters horizontally. Due to the attenuation outside the linear array axis, we use speakers to cross 20 meters apart to provide enough 105dB sound pressure level and uniform coverage to meet high sound quality requirements of the podium.
Speaker configuration of the competition venue and the stadium without an awning: 27 horn speakers are used for sound reinforcement, and the sound image of the venue comes from the same side from the west to prevent the generation of sound interference. At the same time, the sound heard by the stadium without an awning comes from the front instead of the back, bringing the audience a more comfortable auditory experience. Each group is composed of 3 horn speakers, which constitute the A+B+C mode, that is, far, medium, and short distances.
EASE Simulation Analysis
In the sound reinforcement system design, we used EASE architectural electro-acoustic software to complete a relatively accurate test of the speaker system in the stadium's sound field. According to the simulated usage, we can better ensure the sound reinforcement effect of the stadium in the future.
